why i started a blog

Hello world.

This site is plain HTML and CSS. No React. No Next.js. No node_modules folder larger than the blog itself.

Meanwhile someone out there is npm installing 1,200 packages so they can render "hello world" in Helvetica. Their node_modules weighs more than every post they'll ever write combined. They spent three days configuring their markdown pipeline. I spent three minutes writing this.

Anyway. I'll write things here sometimes. Probably about systems, C, low-level stuff. Maybe about why your website doesn't need to be 14 megabytes.
